Background

As noted in my other blog post about my New Years Resolution 2026 I have been working through my Associate AI Engineer for Developers course on DataCamp. To keep myself on task to accomplishing my goal I plan to document my experience and what I've learned in each course.

Course

LLMOps Concepts

Prerequisites: Large Language Models (LLMs) and DevOps concepts

This course covers three main sections:

  • Introduction to LLMOps & Ideation Phase
  • Development Phase
  • Operational Phase

Review

tl;dr - A solid course that provides a good conceptual overview of LLMOps and its role in organizations.

Here is what I learned:

  • The fundamentals of LLMOps and its pivotal role within organizational landscapes
  • The LLM application lifecycle from ideation through development to operational deployment
  • Key considerations for refining development and ensuring smooth deployment of LLM applications

Pros/Cons

Pros:

  • Provides a good conceptual overview of LLMOps without requiring deep technical implementation
  • Accessible to beginners who are new to LLM operations concepts

Cons:

  • The content felt too basic and shallow in some areas
  • Some of the material felt outdated

Final thoughts

I would recommend this course to managers and decision makers who need a conceptual understanding of LLMOps rather than hands-on implementation skills. It provides a solid foundation for understanding how LLM applications fit within an organization.

Here is my certificate if anyone cares to see.
